As founder and principal of Group Alchemy Consulting, Deborah Pruitt, PhD applies a dynamic anthropological perspective to helping organizations achieve extraordinary results. Over the past 20 years she has delivered her holistic cultural expertise to clients as diverse as the University of California, Family Emergency Shelter Coalition, and Kaiser Medical Center.
Dr. Pruitt is committed to working in partnership with individuals and organizations to align values with results through clear vision and strategic action. Working in the nonprofit, educational and governmental sectors for the past two decades, Dr. Pruitt specializes in building the capacity of groups to work collaboratively and unify their diverse talents and perspectives around their collective vision. Group Alchemy helps clients build strategic plans that enliven the organization's purpose, coaches executives in holistic management, leads organization capacity building, strengthens collaborative problem solving and strategic management, and designs and facilitates meetings that inspire participants in new possibilities. A gifted researcher, teacher and presenter, Dr. Pruitt has conducted ethnographic research in three countries and has published articles on economic and organizational development. Dr. Pruitt conducts case studies, focus groups, needs assessments, and evaluations in addition to projects designed to increase understanding and cooperation cross-culturally. She is a professor of anthropology at Laney College in Oakland, CA and faculty advisor at the Western Institute for Social Research in Berkeley. Dr Pruitt earned her doctorate in Anthropology from UC Berkeley in 1993. |
